# Google Analytics and Search Console

> Connect Google with read-only access to see the visitors AI platforms send you and your official search performance.

One Google connection unlocks two things on the [AI Traffic](/monitor/ai-traffic) page:

* **Google Analytics 4**: AI referral sessions, their share of all traffic, engagement against your site average, the trend, and the landing pages AI visitors arrive on. Plus every channel side by side on the All traffic tab.
* **Google Search Console**: official clicks, impressions, average position, top queries and top pages, and the Branded searches view. The Google Search tab appears once Search Console is linked.

## Connecting

<Steps>
  <Step title="Connect Google">
    **Integrations, Google integrations, Connect Google.** Sign in with a Google account that has access to the properties you want, and approve the two read-only permissions.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Link a property to each site">
    Back in Koalr, pick the Google Analytics property and the Search Console property for the site. Different sites can use different properties, and the connection is shared across the organisation so a colleague does not need to connect again.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Wait for the first sync">
    Data is pulled daily. The AI Traffic page fills in after the first sync; from then on it stays current.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Each site links its own property from its card on the Integrations page.

## Permissions

Koalr requests exactly two scopes, both read-only: Google Analytics read-only and Search Console read-only. It cannot change anything in your Google account. Revoke access at any time from your Google account's connected apps, or disconnect in Koalr.

## Reconnecting

If Google's authorisation lapses (a password change, a revoked app, an account move), the card shows **Reconnect**. Reconnecting keeps your site links.

## What is and is not counted

AI referral counts are a verified floor. Only visits carrying an identifiable AI referrer can be attributed; visits from AI apps mostly land as Direct, and Google counts AI Overviews clicks as organic search. See the caveat on the [AI Traffic](/monitor/ai-traffic) page before judging the numbers.
