# Prompt Visibility Rate

> The headline metric: of all AI answers to your tracked prompts, the percentage that mention your brand.

**Definition.** Of all the AI answers to your tracked prompts in the selected period, the percentage in which your brand was mentioned by name.

If Koalr captured 200 answers across your prompts and platforms and 48 of them named you, your Prompt Visibility Rate is 24%.

## How it is computed

* **Per answer.** Each captured answer either mentions the brand or does not. Mentions are detected by name, including the alternative names you have configured.
* **Across platforms.** The Dashboard figure is a response-level rate across every platform that ran, so a platform with more prompts answered carries proportionally more weight. The Performance Matrix shows the same rate per platform.
* **Latest full run.** The headline card uses the latest run that covered at least half of your active prompts, so a single-prompt refresh cannot distort it. The Prompts page shows each prompt's rate from that same run.
* **Excludes** branded prompts, and Claude (captured weekly) in blended figures. Both are shown in per-platform and per-prompt views.

## Named, not cited

An answer that links to one of your pages without naming you does not count as a mention here. That is deliberate: being cited as a source and being recommended by name are different outcomes, and Koalr reports [both separately](/metrics/citations-and-mentions).

## How to read it

| Rate | What it usually means |
| ----------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **0 to 10%** | Absent from the conversation. The fastest wins are prompts where competitors are named and you are not |
| **10 to 30%** | Present on some topics or platforms, invisible on others. Use Topic Breakdown and Platform Breakdown to find the gaps |
| **30 to 60%** | A real presence. Now prominence and sentiment matter: are you named first, and described well |
| **60% and above** | Category leadership on your tracked prompts. Protect the pages earning it and widen the prompt set |

Compare within your own category, not across industries. A niche B2B brand and a consumer brand see very different baselines.
