# Fix how AI describes you

> When AI names you but gets the story wrong, out of date, or unflattering: find where it learned that and correct the source.

**Goal:** raise Sentiment on the prompts where you are mentioned, and remove a wrong claim from the answers.
**Time:** an afternoon to diagnose; days to weeks to correct.
**Pages:** Dashboard, Prompt detail, Sources, GEO Audit.

Sentiment is an average over the answers that mention you, so it moves only when the answers change. Answers change when the pages the platforms read change. The work is finding those pages.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Read what AI is actually saying">
    On the **Dashboard**, the two cards **When AI describes you positively** and **When AI describes your constraints** list the words and themes AI uses about you, with how often each appears. Constraints are not always negatives; they are the boundaries AI keeps repeating (small team, one location, no free plan). Decide which are wrong, which are out of date, and which are true but unhelpfully framed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find the answers behind the theme">
    Open **Prompts** and sort by **Sentiment**. Open the lowest prompt and read its **AI Chats**. The exact sentences are there.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find the page it came from">
    In the same prompt, **Citations & Sources** lists the pages the platform read. Open the ones marked as referencing your brand. Nine times out of ten the wording in the answer is a paraphrase of one of them: an old pricing page, a review, a comparison written by a competitor, a stale directory entry.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Correct the source">
    * **Your own page**: fix it, and make the correct claim explicit and early. Run the page through the [GEO Audit](/analyse/geo-audit); Entity Clarity and Grounding Signals are the categories that decide whether AI takes your version.
    * **A third-party page**: ask for a correction, or add a review or comment with the current facts. See [Get featured on the sources AI trusts](/playbooks/get-featured-on-sources).
    * **A competitor's comparison**: you cannot edit it, so out-write it. From **Citations & Sources**, choose **Out-write** and the Content Studio drafts a page that answers the same question with your facts.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Make sure you are being counted">
    If AI calls you by a founder's name, a trading name or an old brand, those mentions are missed and the sentiment on them is invisible. Add every variant under **Org Admin, Configure, Details, Also known as**. Koalr rechecks past results once you do.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Watch it change">
    Sentiment on the Dashboard, and per prompt on the Prompts page, updates every run. The constraints card should stop repeating the corrected theme within a few weeks of the source changing.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  A branded prompt ("is Acme any good") is the fastest way to hear AI's opinion of you in full, and Koalr keeps them out of your headline numbers for exactly that reason. See [Branded prompts](/set-up/branded-prompts).
