# Win a prompt you are absent from

> Take one prompt where AI never names you and work it through to a published page and a measured result.

**Goal:** move one prompt from 0% Prompt Visibility Rate to a mention on at least one platform.
**Time:** an hour to choose and brief, a few days for the draft and publish, two to four weeks to see the result.
**Pages:** Prompts, Prompt detail, Content Studio, Published.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Pick a prompt worth winning">
    Open **Prompts** and set the results filter to answers where you were not mentioned. Prefer a specific, mid-funnel question over a broad category one: "CRM for a design studio" is winnable, "CRM software" rarely is. Prompts with more competitors named are better targets than prompts where AI names nobody, because there is a slot to take.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Read the answers you are losing">
    Open the prompt. Under **AI Chats**, read three or four answers across platforms. Note the brands named (**Brand Intelligence**), the pages cited (**Citations & Sources**) and the phrasing of the **Background Searches**. Those searches are the queries your page must satisfy.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Decide: a new page or an existing one">
    If one of your pages is already close, the Content Studio **Refresh** tab will have matched it to this prompt and banded the work (Quick win, Worth a session, Rebuild). Refresh beats writing new. If nothing of yours is close, write new.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Brief the piece">
    From the prompt's **Citations & Sources**, choose **Out-write** on the third-party page you want to beat, or open **Content Studio, Create content**. In the wizard: set this prompt as the prompt to win, paste the page to beat, add your own steer (the angle, what you know that the rival page does not), choose the shape, keep your tone of voice document on, and tick any competitor you are willing to name. Read **Why this piece** on the Review step, then run it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Edit, then publish">
    Open the draft. Keep the answer in the first paragraph, keep the sub-question headings, and keep the specifics; those are what the platforms lift. Publish it on your site, then open the draft and add the published address under **Publish and track**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Measure">
    The **Published** tab reports, after every run, whether the piece has been cited and on which prompts. The prompt's own **Prompt Visibility** chart shows the mention rate per platform over time. Give it two to four weeks. A zero in the first week is normal.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## How you know it worked

* The prompt shows a mention on at least one platform in **Mentioned on**.
* Your page appears under **Your most cited pages** on Sources.
* The Published row shows **cited on** the target prompt.

## If it does not move

* Check the page is reachable: [Agent Experience](/analyse/agent-experience) should show the platform's bots allowed.
* Check the page scores well: open it in the [GEO Audit](/analyse/geo-audit) and clear the Answerability and Entity Clarity findings first.
* Check who the platform is reading instead: if every answer cites the same round-up, getting on that round-up may be the shorter route. See [Get featured on the sources AI trusts](/playbooks/get-featured-on-sources).
