Runs and data freshness

Daily by default

A site on the daily schedule runs automatically overnight. Every active prompt is asked on every platform the site tracks, the answers are stored, and the metrics are recomputed. Fresh numbers are waiting in the morning.

Data as of

Every page reads from the most recent completed run and says so in its header. If a number has not moved since yesterday, the most likely reason is that today’s run has not completed yet, or the site is paused. Kevin can tell you when a site last refreshed and whether a run is in progress.

Pausing and manual runs

The freshness header on the Dashboard lets you Pause a site. A paused site keeps all of its history but nothing refreshes until someone starts a run from the site’s row on All Sites (Run analysis). There is no separate weekly schedule: a site is daily or paused. Runs can also be started from All Sites on a daily site if you have just changed prompts or competitors and do not want to wait for the overnight run.

Partial runs

Editing one prompt, or enriching a single prompt, can produce a partial run that only touches that prompt. Headline scores ignore partial runs: the Dashboard picks the latest run that covered at least half of your active prompts, so a single-prompt refresh can never make the whole site look like one prompt’s worth of data.

While a run is in progress

Some figures update live as platforms return. A prompt’s row shows which platforms have answered and which are pending. Wait for the run to complete before comparing against the previous one.

How long history is kept

All of it. Every stored answer, every run and every score stays with the site for as long as the site exists, and the Visibility Trend can be widened to all time.
